YOUTH LEAGUE
The Strand Neighbourhood Youth League was launched in October 2021 with the painting of the prefabricated wall at our new Club House at 3 Masonic Street Strand. The goal is to get all the children of members and the public involved and aware of conservation, recycling and also being good citizens.
The SNWYL (Strand Neighbourhood Watch Youth League) get involved with:
- International Beach clean-up events in cooperation with Helderberg Ocean Awareness
- Annual Krynauw Serdyn River clean-up
- Planting of an indigenous water-wise garden at the Strand Municipal Library
- Christmas gifts to needy children in the community
- Singing and recital of poems for the Silver Hair is Solid Gold campaign in cooperation with Helderberg FM
- Accompanying SNW patrollers and the residents of Huis Jan Swart on walks and an annual fund raiser.
All children aged from 4 years to 13 years old are welcome to join and be part of a better future for our town and maybe one day become a patrol member and do active patrolling duties.
